Dr. Indhumathi has an impressive research portfolio with more than 30 publications in reputed national and international journals, including journals indexed in Web of Science, Scopus, Embase, and ScienceDirect. Her research contributions span areas such as anticancer activity of medicinal plants, nanoparticle synthesis, antioxidant studies, biofertilizers, phytochemicals, and molecular docking approaches for disease treatment. She has also authored and co-authored several books and book chapters on biopolymeric nanomaterials, diabetes management, karyotyping, artificial intelligence in biology, and therapeutic nanocomposites.
An active research mentor, Dr. Indhumathi has guided two M.Phil. scholars and is currently supervising five Ph.D. scholars. She has presented research papers at numerous international and national conferences and has participated in workshops and faculty development programs on advanced topics such as molecular docking, AI-assisted drug design, genome engineering, bioinformatics, and nanotechnology.
Beyond research and teaching, Dr. Indhumathi has played significant leadership roles in academic administration. She serves as the DBT Star Status Department Coordinator and Coordinator of the Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and Value Education at Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College. She has organized several faculty development programs, conferences, seminars, and scientific outreach initiatives. She is also a member of the Boards of Studies of various institutions and regularly serves as a keynote speaker, reviewer, judge, and evaluator for scientific events and academic journals.
Her professional excellence has been recognized through numerous awards and honors, including the Young Scientist Award (2022), Research Excellence Award, Best Volunteer Award, and Best Service Contributor Award. She serves as a reviewer for several reputed journals and has held editorial positions in international scientific publications.
A life member of multiple professional bodies, including the Indian Association of Applied Microbiologists, Institute of Researchers, Institute of Scholars, and Tamil Nadu Science Forum, Dr. Indhumathi remains committed to advancing scientific knowledge, fostering innovation, and mentoring the next generation of researchers.
