Fees and Waivers

Open Access and Publication Charges

ResearchPubX Publishing follows an open-access publishing model in which published scholarly articles are made freely and immediately accessible to readers without subscription barriers.

To support manuscript administration, peer-review coordination, production, publication, digital infrastructure, hosting, preservation, and maintenance of the scholarly record, an Article Processing Charge (APC) applies to certain manuscripts following formal acceptance.

The applicable APC is determined by the publication route and Article Category under which the manuscript is accepted.

An author's ability or inability to pay an APC does not influence editorial assessment, peer review, acceptance, rejection, publication priority, or any other editorial decision.

No Submission or Peer-Review Fees

ResearchPubX Publishing does not charge authors a separate fee for:

  • Manuscript submission
  • Initial editorial assessment
  • Technical screening
  • Peer-review evaluation
  • Editorial decision-making
  • Submission of revisions requested during editorial assessment or peer review

Authors are not required to make an APC payment in order to obtain peer review or an editorial decision.

For manuscripts subject to an APC, payment is requested only after the manuscript has completed the applicable editorial and peer-review process and has been formally accepted for publication.

Article Processing Charges

ResearchPubX Publishing uses a structured APC framework intended to provide authors with clear and predictable information about publication costs.

The principal publication routes are:

  • Regular Issue
  • Special Issue

Within these publication routes, manuscripts are grouped into Article Categories according to their scholarly format, scope, and production requirements.

Article types available for submission may vary according to the aims, scope, and editorial policy of the individual journal.

All APC amounts shown below are stated in Euros (EUR) and apply per accepted article unless another arrangement has been formally approved.

Regular Issue APCs

Regular Issue manuscripts are published within the journal's standard publication schedule.

All manuscripts remain subject to the applicable editorial assessment, peer-review requirements, ethical checks, research-integrity procedures, and production standards.

Regular Issue APC Structure

Processing Category Article Category Typical Article Types APC (EUR)
Regular IssueFull-Length Scholarly ArticlesOriginal Research Article, Research Article, Review Article, Systematic Review, Meta-analysis, Clinical Study, Original Study, Study Protocol, Methodology Article, Technical Article, Case Series, and comparable substantial scholarly contributions, where applicable€ 499
Shorter or Focused ContributionsMini Review, Case Report, Case Study, Brief Report, Short Communication, Technical Note, Research Letter, and comparable focused scholarly contributions€ 349
Editorial, Commentary and Opinion ContentEditorial, Editorial Note, Commentary, Perspective, Viewpoint, Opinion Article, Position Paper, Letter to the Editor, and related scholarly discussion formats€ 249

Special Issue APCs

Special Issues bring together scholarly contributions addressing a defined research theme, emerging subject, interdisciplinary topic, or another focused area approved by the journal.

Special Issue manuscripts remain subject to the same applicable editorial, ethical, research-integrity, and peer-review requirements as Regular Issue submissions.

Special Issue APC Structure

Processing Category Article Category Typical Article Types APC (EUR)
Special IssueFull-Length Scholarly ArticlesOriginal Research Article, Research Article, Review Article, Systematic Review, Meta-analysis, Clinical Study, Original Study, Study Protocol, Methodology Article, Technical Article, Case Series, and comparable substantial scholarly contributions, where applicable€ 449
Shorter or Focused ContributionsMini Review, Case Report, Case Study, Brief Report, Short Communication, Technical Note, Research Letter, and comparable focused scholarly contributions€ 299
Editorial, Commentary and Opinion ContentEditorial, Editorial Note, Commentary, Perspective, Viewpoint, Opinion Article, Position Paper, Letter to the Editor, and related scholarly discussion formats€ 199

The Special Issue APC reflects the applicable publication arrangement and does not indicate a reduced standard of peer review, editorial oversight, ethical assessment, or research-integrity evaluation.

Approved Special Issues may occasionally receive institutional, academic, organizational, sponsorship, or other authorized APC support. Where such arrangements apply, the applicable terms will be communicated clearly to eligible authors.

Submission to or participation in a Special Issue does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

Article Classification

The Editorial Office may determine the appropriate Article Category according to the manuscript's scholarly purpose, content, length, structure, and publication format.

For example:

  • A Research Article, comprehensive Review, Systematic Review, or Meta-analysis would normally fall under Full-Length Scholarly Articles.
  • A Mini Review, Case Report, Brief Report, or Short Communication would normally fall under Shorter or Focused Contributions.
  • A Perspective, Commentary, Viewpoint, Editorial, or Opinion Article would normally fall under Editorial, Commentary and Opinion Content.

If a manuscript has been submitted under an incorrect category, the Editorial Office may assign the appropriate classification.

Where reclassification results in a different APC, the corresponding author will be informed before the final invoice is issued.

Invited Editorial Content

Editorials, Editorial Notes, Perspectives, Commentaries, or similar scholarly contributions specifically invited by the journal may, at the publisher's discretion, receive a full or partial APC waiver.

Unsolicited manuscripts submitted under these Article Types are subject to the applicable APC where accepted.

An invitation or APC exemption does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

Where an Editor or Editorial Board member is an author or co-author of a manuscript, that individual must not participate in reviewer selection, peer-review management, editorial assessment, or the final publication decision concerning their own submission.

What the APC Supports

Article Processing Charges contribute to the professional and technical services required to process and publish accepted scholarly work.

Depending on the manuscript and publication route, these activities may include:

  • Manuscript and editorial administration
  • Initial technical and submission-compliance checks
  • Research-integrity and originality screening
  • Peer-review coordination
  • Reviewer and author communication
  • Editorial workflow administration
  • Production preparation
  • Copyediting and technical formatting, where applicable
  • Typesetting and article layout
  • Preparation of HTML and/or PDF publication formats, where applicable
  • Publication metadata preparation
  • DOI or persistent-identifier processing, where applicable
  • Online publication and hosting
  • Digital preservation and archiving
  • Maintenance of the scholarly record
  • Appropriate post-publication corrections
  • Author and publication support

The APC is a publication-processing charge. It is not a payment for acceptance, favorable peer review, accelerated editorial approval, publication priority, or any particular editorial outcome.

No Routine Additional Publication Charges

ResearchPubX Publishing follows a transparent publication-pricing policy.

Unless a journal or approved publication arrangement clearly states otherwise in advance, authors are not normally charged additional fees for standard publication components, including:

  • Color figures in the online article
  • Standard tables
  • Ordinary supplementary files
  • Data availability statements
  • Routine author corrections during the production-proof stage
  • Standard article metadata
  • Standard HTML and/or PDF preparation, where applicable
  • Online reader access to the published article

The applicable APC represents the standard publication charge for the approved Article Category.

Authors may submit appropriate supplementary materials where these contribute to the transparency, reproducibility, interpretation, or understanding of the research. Such materials may include datasets, appendices, questionnaires, research instruments, protocols, supporting tables or figures, and other relevant documentation.

Ordinary supplementary materials do not normally attract a separate publication charge.

Where exceptionally large, technically complex, externally hosted, or otherwise non-standard material requires additional production or hosting services, any proposed additional cost will be communicated to the corresponding author in advance.

No non-standard charge will be imposed without prior communication and agreement.

Open Access and Licensing

Articles published by ResearchPubX Publishing are made freely and immediately accessible online without subscription charges.

Articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under CC BY 4.0, readers may read, download, copy, share, redistribute, and adapt published material, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source, a link to the licence is provided, and any changes made are clearly indicated.

Authors retain copyright in their original scholarly work while granting ResearchPubX Publishing the non-exclusive rights necessary to publish, distribute, host, archive, preserve, and maintain the version of record.

Authors should refer to the applicable Copyright and Licensing Policy for complete information regarding copyright ownership, reuse rights, permissions, and third-party material.

Waiver and Discount Policy

ResearchPubX Publishing recognizes that access to publication funding varies among researchers, institutions, countries, and career stages.

Authors who are unable to meet the applicable APC may request:

  • A full APC waiver
  • A partial APC waiver
  • A reduced APC

Requests may be considered in circumstances including:

  • Absence of research-grant funding
  • Lack of institutional publication support
  • Affiliation with a resource-constrained institution
  • Student or doctoral researcher status
  • Early-career researcher status with limited publication funding
  • Independent researcher status without external sponsorship
  • Exceptional documented financial circumstances
  • Approved institutional or collaborative arrangements
  • Approved Special Issue funding arrangements

Where relevant, factors such as available research funding, institutional publication support, grant funding, career stage, and other appropriate financial circumstances may be considered.

Waivers and discounts are not automatic, and no specific level of financial assistance is guaranteed unless formally approved by ResearchPubX Publishing.

Authors are expected to provide accurate information when requesting financial assistance.

The perceived importance, novelty, expected citation performance, expected impact, or scholarly merit of a manuscript is not used to determine financial-support eligibility.

Waiver and discount decisions are administrative matters and are separate from peer review and editorial assessment.

How to Request a Waiver or Discount

Authors seeking financial assistance should preferably submit their request before the final APC invoice is issued.

A request should normally include:

  • Manuscript number, where available
  • Article title
  • Corresponding author's name
  • Institutional affiliation
  • Funding information, where applicable
  • A brief explanation of the circumstances supporting the request

Requests may be sent to:

support@researchpubx.com

Authors are encouraged to request financial assistance as early as reasonably possible so that any approved arrangement can be confirmed before publication.

Editorial Independence

ResearchPubX Publishing maintains a clear separation between financial administration and editorial decision-making.

APCs, waiver requests, discounts, sponsorships, institutional arrangements, Special Issue support, refunds, or other financial matters do not determine whether a manuscript is accepted or rejected.

Editors and peer reviewers are not responsible for determining an author's financial-assistance eligibility.

An author's ability or inability to pay, funding status, institutional resources, geographic location, waiver request, or discount request must not influence:

  • Reviewer selection
  • Peer-review reports
  • Revision requirements
  • Editorial recommendations
  • Acceptance
  • Rejection
  • Publication priority

Editorial decisions are based on appropriate scholarly considerations, including originality, academic or scientific quality, methodological rigor where applicable, relevance to the journal's aims and scope, ethical compliance, research integrity, and overall suitability for publication.

Payment of an APC does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

Institutional and Collaborative APC Support

ResearchPubX Publishing may establish appropriate publishing or APC-support arrangements with:

  • Universities
  • Research institutions
  • Academic societies
  • Scholarly associations
  • Research networks
  • Funding organizations
  • Other appropriate academic or research bodies

Approved arrangements may provide eligible authors with:

  • Reduced APCs
  • Partial APC support
  • Full APC support
  • Institutionally funded publication charges
  • Other clearly defined financial arrangements

Such arrangements relate to publication funding and administration only.

They do not guarantee manuscript acceptance, reserve publication space, bypass peer review, or influence editorial decisions.

All manuscripts remain subject to the applicable journal's editorial, ethical, research-integrity, peer-review, and publication requirements.

Payment and Invoicing

No APC payment is required when a manuscript is submitted or while it is undergoing editorial assessment and peer review.

Following formal acceptance of an APC-bearing manuscript, the corresponding author will receive information concerning:

  • Article Category
  • Article Type
  • Applicable APC
  • Any approved waiver or discount
  • Invoice details
  • Authorized payment method
  • Payment instructions
  • Applicable payment timeframe

Payment, or confirmation of an approved waiver or financial-support arrangement, should normally be completed before final publication.

Authorized payment methods may include approved online payment facilities, bank transfer, institutional payment arrangements, or other methods specified on the official invoice.

An appropriate payment acknowledgement or receipt will be provided for completed transactions where applicable.

All APC amounts displayed on this page are stated in Euros (EUR).

Where payment is processed in another currency, the applicable currency conversion may be determined by the bank, payment provider, or authorized payment facility at the time of transaction.

Where legally applicable taxes, banking charges, currency-conversion charges, payment-processing fees, or other mandatory third-party charges apply, these will be identified on the invoice or communicated to the author before payment.

Authors should make payments only through official ResearchPubX Publishing payment instructions and authorized payment channels.

Manuscript Withdrawal Before Publication

Authors may request withdrawal of an unpublished manuscript by submitting a written request from the registered corresponding-author email address.

The withdrawal request should:

  • Clearly identify the manuscript
  • Provide a brief explanation for the request
  • Confirm agreement from co-authors where appropriate

Withdrawal requests made before substantial editorial or peer-review processing has begun are generally handled without penalty.

Where peer review or substantial editorial processing has already commenced, the request may be reviewed in accordance with the applicable ResearchPubX Withdrawal Policy.

Any applicable administrative condition or charge must be communicated clearly to the corresponding author in accordance with the publisher's current policy.

Withdrawal requests involving authorship disputes, duplicate submission, ethical concerns, research-integrity issues, or other matters requiring investigation may be reviewed before the manuscript record is formally closed.

If an APC has already been paid, any financial adjustment or refund request will be handled according to the APC Refund Policy.

Once an article has been formally published, it is handled under the applicable post-publication, correction, and retraction policies rather than as an ordinary manuscript withdrawal.

APC Refund Policy

No APC payment is required before formal manuscript acceptance.

APC payments are generally non-refundable once formal acceptance has been granted and substantive editorial or publication processing has commenced.

Refunds may nevertheless be considered in limited circumstances, including:

  • Duplicate payment
  • Payment made in error
  • Publisher billing error
  • Payment-processing error
  • Inability of ResearchPubX Publishing to complete an agreed publication service
  • Another exceptional administrative circumstance approved by the publisher

Articles that have already been published are not normally eligible for an APC refund.

Refund decisions are administrative and financial matters and do not influence editorial decisions.

Where a refund is approved, non-refundable banking, payment-processing, currency-conversion, or statutory charges imposed by third parties may be taken into account where legally applicable and clearly communicated.

After Publication

Once an article has been formally published as part of the scholarly record, it is not ordinarily treated as an unpublished manuscript withdrawal.

Where substantive errors, ethical concerns, or research-integrity issues are identified after publication, the matter may instead be addressed through an appropriate scholarly-record action, including:

  • Correction
  • Retraction
  • Expression of Concern
  • Editorial notice
  • Other appropriate post-publication action

Such matters will be handled in accordance with the applicable ResearchPubX publication-ethics, corrections, retraction, and research-integrity policies.

Changes to APCs

ResearchPubX Publishing may periodically review its Article Processing Charges to reflect legitimate changes in production requirements, publishing infrastructure, operational costs, or publication services.

Any revised APC schedule will be displayed transparently on the relevant journal website.

Unless another arrangement is clearly communicated and agreed with the author, the APC applicable to a manuscript will normally be the published rate in effect when the manuscript was initially submitted.

An approved waiver, discount, institutional arrangement, Special Issue support, or other approved reduction may subsequently lower the amount payable.

Changes to APC rates will not be applied retrospectively to APC payments that have already been completed.

Commitment to Fair and Transparent Pricing

ResearchPubX Publishing aims to maintain an open-access publishing model that balances affordability, responsible publishing operations, and equitable participation in scholarly communication.

The APC framework is based on the following principles:

  • No submission fee
  • No separate peer-review fee
  • APC payment only after formal acceptance
  • Clearly published Article Categories and APC amounts
  • No routine hidden publication charges
  • Availability of waiver and discount mechanisms
  • Separation of financial administration from editorial decision-making
  • Transparent invoicing and payment information
  • Clearly defined withdrawal and refund procedures

Publication charges do not purchase acceptance, favorable peer review, editorial approval, publication priority, or any particular editorial outcome.

All manuscripts remain subject to the applicable journal's scholarly, editorial, ethical, research-integrity, peer-review, and publication requirements.
