Biography -

Kwamena Opoku Duartey is a researcher at the Petroleum Recovery and Research Center at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. His doctoral work combines core flooding and batch test experiments, reservoir simulations, and geochemical modeling to evaluate sustainable underground hydrogen storage in the San Juan Basin, contributing to a DOE-funded regional CCUS initiative. He holds an MSc from Politecnico di Torino in Italy and a BSc degree from KNUST, Ghana, both in Petroleum Engineering. His experience spans offshore drilling (Jubilee Field), production operations (Saltpond Field), and a faculty appointment as a lecturer in petroleum engineering at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Ghana. An Author of multiple technical papers on drilling fluids, flow assurance, and geological storage of CO₂ and Hydrogen. He serves as an editorial board member and peer reviewer for journals including ACS Omega, Fuels, ASME, and the International Journal of Hydrogen.
